-
Use trough planters as natural screens. They reduce noise and are useful as barriers to segregate walkways and work areas.
-
Over 80% of indoor plants are killed through over-watering. If in doubt, leave it to the experts, Rentokil Tropical Plant technician.
-
Your indoor plants need water, light and warmth to survive, so when you're off on holiday don't forget your plants. Don't keep the blinds closed.
-
Variegated plants (leaves that have white edges or white flecks) need more light than their green cousins do. Keep them near a window, as they need all the light they can find.
- Indoor Container Plants slowly adapt to their surroundings by changing their leaf orientation and structure. So don't move your indoor plants around, as they may not be able to adapt as easily as you think.
- Indoor plants may reduce stress - see our Plants in Buildings Website for more details.
- You can still have plants where space is at a premium: some of the latest designs use tall containers to show off the plants whilst not using much floor space.
- Regularly prune your indoor plants at home to stop them becoming 'leggy'. Once they've lost the foliage on their lower branches it is very difficult to get it to return.
- There is now general agreement within the scientific community that indoor plants improve the indoor environment and are useful weapons in the fight against the modern phenomenon known as sick building syndrome.
